Check-in was early and the hotel was quaint. the location was amazing in a great neighborhood. I really enjoyed the cheap and spacious rooms with full-size beds and showers. the staff was excellent. the breakfast featured a huge variety of delicious food and drinks. the whole experience was really nice, with nothing being too much trouble. I would be happy to recommend it.

Location
Room small cramped, needs refurbishing. Couldnt close curtains, noisy street and too hot, couldnt control temp. I had paid for two nights but left after one. Bed not made and room not cleaned when I returned to the room, so I walked out.

Got neat and cheap room with the master bedroom, a space heater plus TV had a very nice stay overall. The location was favourable - within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel was an interesting place for enjoying an amazing area.

Location
Worst hotel ever. Room like a garage. Wallpaper ripped off the wall. Dirty small sink almost ripped off the wall. Weak water pressure in the shower. Shower drain clogged up once. No bed making...

The location of the hotel was perfect for the trip we made. When looking for a hotel, we read the reviews of previous guests, which hit the nail on the head. One review complained about the noise from the bar downstairs, but i found this more amusing than anything & it added to the atmosphere of the area. The hotel is located in the "Old City" which doesn´t really look so old. It´s walking distance to all the sites of B Franklin´s glory & The Liberty Bell. Would definately stay there again, as we only stayed in Philly for one night & regret not having a few beers in the bar downstairs.

The new comforter on the bed.
I would never stay in this hotel again. It is on a noisy street, it is very small, run-down, shabby and where improvements have been attempted, they are badly done. The curtains fell down when we closed them, the bed is small and hard, the bathroom is so tiny even a small person can't turn. It gives a terrible impression on arrival with a shabby door, run- down street, dirty stairwell, no directions to the 'office' on the second floor. The office is a complete shamble with unfinished walls, wires everywere, dirty. Hallway was recently painted. No elevator so you have to carry bags up two flights of stairs. Door to the storage room was damaged, furniture piled in the alcove, and the rooms are above a raucous bar. Never again, despite the price!

The hotel has charm, far from the luxurious but anonymous chain hotels.
The rooms are small, but it's somehow endearing.
